I grew up in Amsterdam, Holland and we always have been taught to create things at home.
I have always been creative and started making things seriously when I was 9 years old.
I am a self taught person. I do not have a set way of creating.
It often begins with looking what's around me, flicking through old children books, fashion magazines or my inspiration board that I have in my small studio.
Sometimes an idea will come out of this.
Apart from creating clay figures I also enjoy abstract painting with acrylics and water colour.
My inspiration is Matisse and Van Gogh.
I love to work with different kind of mediums such as clay, gemstones, fabric and paints.
I have taken a break of my popular fabric sculptures and picked up my sculpting with natural clay, playing with paints and gemstones.
I have always believed to evolve and try new things all the time.
My work has been featured in a number of books, magazines and blogs around the world.
I am very grateful to find Etsy in 2006, it has given me a lot of exposure and being chosen as a Featured Seller on Etsy in 2010 has given me all the confidence creating new things and test out my new creations.
